I don’t blame people for rejecting what I do outright. Just as it is difficult to understand what it is I do, it’s also difficult to explain what I do.
I am more than just a photographer because my work extends beyond what the camera captures.
I am more than a painter because I paint more than my face — I paint a scene, a scenario, a lifetime of emotion captured in one image.
I guess it’s best to think of me as an artistic ethnologist combined with a conceptual anthropologist and a storyteller. I observe everyone and everything and try to understand them so that I can make connections. I pay respect to the past and use it as a basis to form something never-before-seen.
Just as we are all made of star stuff, we are all connected.
