Disney Diva #003
This will be the last portrait for the Disney Divas series. I’m ready to move onto other new series. I may revisit this series in the future because it has a lot of unexplored potential.
“Disney Divas”
A new series inspired by Disney Villains. This is what happened as a result of me going to Disneyland this weekend ;-)
The complete Gatsby inspired series, featuring clothes I made out of newspaper and a floating art deco frame.
There was a period in Cindy Sherman’s career where she got sick of putting on all the makeup, wigs and prosthetics. She was sick of appearing in her pictures, in spite of the public’s expectations. So she experimented with pictures where only parts of her body were in frame, or she was just a reflection in sunglasses, really fragmented appearances.
I can totally relate and this series was what I shot during my “I don’t want to appear on camera” phase.
I thought about ninjas and how everyone thinks they’re so stealthily. But black is only effective when on black. To me, the deadliest ninja would be one who could blend in with any pattern, no matter how crazy.
So here now are The Invisibles, a series I did a couple months ago. There was no Photoshop involved at all, just lots and lots of fabric.
I imagine a young woman trying to move up in her career. fresh out of school, she is currently a administrative assistant (called “secretaries” back then) but really wants to have her own interior design firm. she plans to get her degree at home, after having seen a commercial advertising the courses.
